Our Worship • 9:30am Sundays

We worship God through ancient structures of prayer + gathering (we call this “liturgy”)

and in the process, we make generous room for childlike wonder and delight (for all ages).

For the first half of worship, we feast on the living Word of God as given in Holy Scripture; we hear passages of the Bible read aloud, we say some back and forth to each other, and the priest preaches a sermon that usually lasts about 8-12 minutes.

Then the feast crescendoes as we are all unite together around God’s Table in the Eucharist - you might have heard it called communion or the Lord’s Supper. Eucharist is Greek for “giving of thanks.”

In this part of the service, we bless bread and wine in the name of Christ, where we remember and are re-membered into Christ’s Body

Before we are sent back out into the world to love and serve God, Alleluia, Alleluia!

One Episcopal prayer asks God to “shield the joyous.” We believe that is what we are called to do here: shield, amplify, and celebrate God’s joy in and for us, even in the face of cynicism, oppression, and despair.

Who we are.
